Gynecology is one of the traditional
areas in which microwave radiometry is used.
Pavlova L.S. and Poliakov V.M. in
their works show that as a pregnancy term increases, integral
internal temperatures in navel region increase. Also inflammatory
processes in small pelvis are accompanied by abnormal internal
temperature differentials. It should be noted that skin temperature
differentials also occur, however they are 2-3 times less then
internal temperature differentials.
In 1996 at the physiotherapy
department of the Central Dermatology and Venereology Research
Institute of Medical Industry and the Public Health Ministry (Russian
Federation) we investigated diagnostic abilities of RTM-01-RES
during examinations and treatment of patients with chronic adnexitis.
The trial has shown that the patients
with chronic adnexitis had an increase in temperature of 1...2°C at
the tested points in comparison with the temperature at
corresponding points of healthy volunteers. Also measured
temperatures of the inflammatory and normal adnexa were compared.
The average increase in temperature of the inflamed adnexa in
comparison with the normal adnexa was 1.2°C (p<0.001).
At present in Slovenia a clinical
trial for diagnosis of ovary cancer is being conducted.
Temperature
field of the uterus and ovary. The examination was conducted during
ovulation. Ovulation is in the left ovary. |
